# Installation & setup

> Install Yuko Post Purchase Upsells and enable it for each offer placement.

The app shows offers in three places, and each placement has its own
one-time setup. The in-app **Setup Guide** on the Home page covers the
post-purchase placement; the thank-you page and checkout placements are
enabled in Shopify's checkout editor.

    Install
    [Yuko Post Purchase Upsells](https://apps.shopify.com/yuko-post-purchase-upsell)
    from the Shopify App Store and approve the requested permissions.

  <Step title="Enable the post-purchase page">
    Shopify lets exactly one app power the post-purchase page, so you need
    to select Yuko:

    1. In the app's **Setup Guide**, click **Enable** on the step
       **Enable Yuko Post Purchase Upsell in shopify settings**. This
       opens **Settings → Checkout → Post-purchase page** in your Shopify
       admin.
    2. Select **Yuko Post Purchase Upsell** as the post-purchase app and
       save.
    3. Back in the app, click **Refresh status** — the step is checked off
       automatically once Shopify reports the app is selected.

      This is all the storefront setup needed for **post-purchase**
      offers.

  <Step title="(Optional) Add the thank-you page block">
    To show offers on the thank-you / order status page:

    1. Go to **Settings → Checkout** and click **Customize** to open the
       checkout editor.
    2. Switch the editor to the **Thank you** page.
    3. Click **Add app block** and add the app's **thank-you product
       slider** block, positioning it where you want the offer to appear.
    4. Click **Save**.

  <Step title="(Optional, Shopify Plus) Add the checkout block">
    Checkout page offers use a checkout UI extension, available on
    **Shopify Plus** stores:

    1. Go to **Settings → Checkout → Customize** to open the checkout
       editor on the **Checkout** page.
    2. Add the app's **checkout upsell** block from the app blocks list —
       for example, below the order summary.
    3. Click **Save**.

## What powers each placement

| Placement            | Setup needed                                                       | How it charges                                    |
| -------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------ | ------------------------------------------------- |
| Post-purchase page   | Select the app in **Settings → Checkout → Post-purchase page**     | One click — added to the original order's payment |
| Thank-you page       | Add the app block on the **Thank you** page in the checkout editor | Accepting starts a new checkout (a second order)  |
| Checkout page (Plus) | Add the app block on the **Checkout** page in the checkout editor  | Adds the item to the cart being checked out       |

<Note>
  Discounts are delivered by an automatic discount function the app
  creates and keeps in sync by itself — there's nothing to enable for
  discounts to work.
