# Scheduling & status

> Run limits between start and end dates, and manage limit status from the Limits list.

## Schedule a limit

In the limit editor, open **Advanced settings**:

* **Start date** — when the limit begins to apply
* **Set end date** — optionally add an **End date** after which the limit
  stops applying automatically

<Note>
  Scheduled times are based on **GMT +0:00**, not your store's local
  timezone. Adjust accordingly when planning a launch.

A limit with a future start date shows the **Scheduled** status until it
becomes active.

## Notification behavior

Also under Advanced settings, choose when the customer sees the limit
message — **When should we notify the customer about this limit?**

* **When the limit is reached** — the message appears once the cart hits
  the limit
* **When customer tries to add more items to cart than allowed** — the
  message appears only when they attempt to exceed the limit
* **Do not show any notification** — the limit is enforced silently at
  checkout with no storefront message

## Managing limits

The **Limits** page lists every limit with tabs for **All**, **Active**,
and **Inactive**. From the list you can:

* Toggle a limit's status on or off
* Edit or delete a limit
* Turn on **Hide express checkout if limits are not met** — a store-level
  option that hides express checkout buttons (like Buy it now) so
  customers can't skip past cart-level validation

<Tip>
  If dynamic checkout buttons let customers bypass your minimum order
  rules, enabling **Hide express checkout** closes that gap. See also
