# Installation & theme setup

> Install Yuko Cart and turn on the cart drawer in your theme — no coding needed.

Yuko Cart replaces your theme's cart with a customizable slide-out cart
drawer. Getting it live takes four steps. The app's dashboard shows the
same four steps as a **Setup Guide** and checks most of them off for you
automatically.

    Install
    [Yuko Cart Drawer & Upsells](https://apps.shopify.com/yuko-cart-drawer-upsell)
    from the Shopify App Store. Approve the permissions when asked. The
    app opens inside your Shopify admin.

  <Step title="Enable the cart drawer theme extension">
    The drawer is delivered by an "app embed" in your theme. It's off
    until you switch it on.

    1. On the dashboard, find the step **Enable the cart drawer theme
       extension** and click **Activate extension**. Your theme editor
       opens with the embed ready.
    2. Click **Save** in the theme editor.
    3. Back in the app, click **Refresh status**. The **Cart drawer theme
       extension** card should now say **Active**.

    <Tip>
      Can't find it later? In your Shopify admin, go to **Online Store →
      Themes → Customize**, click the puzzle-piece icon (**App embeds**),
      and switch on **Yuko Cart Drawer**.

  <Step title="Customize and activate the cart">
    Click **Open cart settings**. This opens the cart editor. Turn the
    **Status** toggle to **Active**, make any changes you like, and click
    **Save**.

    <Warning>
      The drawer only replaces your theme's cart while the status is
      **Active**. If the status is Inactive, shoppers keep seeing your
      theme's original cart — even with the extension enabled.

  <Step title="(Optional) Add the progress bar to your product page">
    The **Yuko Progress Bar** block shows your rewards progress (like
    "spend \$10 more for free shipping") on product pages too.

    1. Click **Add to product page** in the Setup Guide. The theme
       editor opens on a product template.
    2. The block is added for you — drag it where you want it and click
       **Save**.

    The block has three simple settings: **Alignment**, **Max width
    (px)**, and top/bottom spacing.

## Check your work

Visit your storefront and add any product to the cart.

  The Yuko cart drawer should slide open (if you kept **Open cart drawer
  on add to cart** enabled). If you see your theme's old cart instead,
  one of the steps above isn't finished — see the checklist below.

  <Accordion title="Still seeing the old cart? Check these three things">
    1. The **Yuko Cart Drawer** app embed is on, in the theme you're
       actually viewing (check the theme editor's App embeds panel).
    2. The cart's **Status** toggle in the app is **Active**.
    3. You saved both — the theme editor and the cart editor each have
       their own Save button.
