# Shipping protection

> A paid protection add-on shoppers can toggle on — extra revenue on autopilot.

**Shipping protection** adds a small paid toggle to the cart — "Protect
my order — \$1.95". Shoppers who enable it pay the fee with their order.
Find it under **Footer → Shipping protection**.

## How the charge works

The app creates a hidden Shopify product for the fee and **keeps its
price in sync with your settings** automatically. The panel confirms
with "Auto-managed dummy product (created)" after you enable the section
and click **Save**.

<Warning>
  Don't edit or delete that hidden product in Shopify — the app manages
  it. Deleting it breaks the add-on until the next save recreates it.

## Settings

| Toggle on by default                                     | Protection starts enabled; shoppers can switch it off                                     |
| Automatically remove when the cart is empty              | Cleans it up when everything else is removed                                              |

<Tip>
  Price it around 2–3% of your average order value and enable **Toggle
  on by default**. Opt-out keeps it fair — and most shoppers keep it.

<Note>
  Shipping protection is a support-unlocked section. If you see a
  padlock, click **Request feature** and we'll enable it for your store.
</Note>

Protection revenue and units sold have their own tiles on the
[Analytics](/cart-drawer/analytics) page, so you can see exactly what
this module earns.
